Sweet Treats.

I made these for the kids' teachers last night. It's my favorite last-minute gift idea ever. They're giant-size candy bars that I re-wrapped with paper.

I'm making Heather White's Orange Chip Cake for dessert tonight with our Valentine's dinner of Rib Eyes and steamed asparagus. Mmmmm.

ORANGE CHIP CAKE
Yellow Cake Mix
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Orange Juice
Red food coloring

Prepare cake mix as directed substituting orange juice for the water. Add a few drops of red food coloring for orange color. Mix in chocolate chips. Pour into 9 x 13 cake pan and bake as directed. Frost with homemade chocolate frosting:

HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE FROSTING
3 C. powdered sugar
1/3 C. cocoa
1 cube butter
1 tsp. vanilla
milk (to desired consistency)

Sam's class has a chocolate fountain that they're making fondue in. Hmmm. Let's do the math:

Kindergarteners
+ Melted Chocolate
= DISASTER!!!!

Unfortunately I agreed to volunteer to help at the party PRIOR to this little tidbit of knowledge.

The girls' party is as well-orchestrated as a military manuever, as usual. They might be allowed to giggle.
Maybe.

Happy Valentines Day!
