I loved Kelli Crowe's advent calendar using baby socks that she posted last year, so I decided to do my own version making mini-stockings out of old sweaters. I cut them out and Sage sewed them all together.
After I finished making the stockings, I had a big pile of cut-up sweaters left over that I couldn't bear to throw away, so I made a cute holiday throw blanket out of them! I backed it with polar fleece so it's super comfy and soft. I like how this turned out so much, I'm making one for my in-laws for Christmas! One of my favorite thrift stores is having a $5 bag sale, so I stocked up on sweaters and wool shirts for the next quilt. :)
I got the idea for this Christmas card wreath from Martha Stewart's website. Very quick and easy. I just bought a huge embroidery hoop, hot-glued some wood clothespins on, and tied a big bow to hang it from. I put up some favorite pictures that I'll replace once we get some Christmas cards in the mail. :)
I dressed up my kitchen window with lots of glass balls, velvet bows and pinecones.
This is one of my favorite vingettes (nevermind the paint swatches on the wall...still trying to decide on a color!). The marble-topped cabinets were my mom's, the moose antler is a drop that Paul found while on a sheep hunt, and the fox is his first taxidermy project.
I definitely lean toward the country/rustic decorating style this time of year!
Alrighty, I am going to go work on that next quilt. More pictures to come!
